March 2009

· March 20th & 21st Batavia, NY

Datu Hartman and member of the Tribe participated in the 2008 IFMA end of season Banquet and Tournament.
On Friday nights awards banquet for the points championship Datu Hartman was the
· Self-defense champion
· 1st runner up in soft style forms
· 2nd runner up in weapons
· 3rd runner up in traditional forms

The day after were the actual tournaments championships and the debut of their padded stick fighting divisions.
Members of the tribe had a respectable day with the following results
· Datu Hartman: Soft forms champion, Self-Defense Champion, 2nd in Weapons, Stick Fighting and Kata
· Ryan Monolopolus: Self-Defense Champion, 1st place in Stick Fighting,
· Morgan Hooley: 1st place in Stick Fighting, 2nd place in Self-Defense,
· Ted Smeltz: 2nd place in Stick Fighting

· May 15 2009 Datu Hartman & Tribe pick up a new sponsor!

Premier Padded Weaponry (PPW) has debuted their new padded stick! To ensure that they delivered the "premier" padded weapon on the market, PPW enlisted Datu Hartman to perform R&D testing on the product.

· May 22nd & 23rd, Atlantic City, NJ

Datu Hartman and Guro Monopolus “of the Tribe” were accompanied by 2 members of Team PMAI Senseis John and Jake Gunn at the NAFMA Championships in Atlantic City. This four man crew brought back eight national titles. The results are as follows:
· Datu Hartman: Weapons & Sword Fighting Champion
· Guro Monolopolus: Sword, Stick & Kata Champion, 2nd place Weapons
· Sensei John Gunn: Stick Fighting & Kata Champion
· Sensei Jake Gunn: Weapons Champion

After the NAFMA Championships the team stopped in Philadelphia and visited Bando Grand Master Dr. Maung Gyi at the ABA Nation Championships and Training camp. This was the first time that the Gunn’s had met Dr. Gyi. Everybody enjoyed a good time and is looking forward to next year’s trip.

August 2009

Datu Hartman, was brought in as a consultant to the NBL “National Black belt League” for new specialty events for the 2009 Super Grand’s. This year’s Super Grand’s will be held at the Adam’s Mark Hotel in Buffalo, NY. The specialty division to be debuted at this event will be Grappling and Stick Fighting. The Datu’s responsibilities will also include being the Stick Fighting Coordinator for the Tournament.
